One Nebraska school official took the government shutdown to an extreme: he stopped the Pledge of Allegiance. These issues affect us all, even our children. Rather than leaving it to the parents for discussion, Principle Pat Jones was worried that some of his students didn’t know the federal government had been shut down. Rather than educating the children with knowledge, he decided to stop the normal recitation of the pledge. Yeah, that’s teaching them Pat.
